I grabbed this one from Wegmans Pick-A-Pack, which has quickly become my go-to since my old beer shop shut down. The branding on this can immediately caught my attention: Tables on Tables celebrates Bills Mafia tailgate culture, even throwing in a nod to Pinto Ron and his legendary ketchup-and-mustard showers. As a Bills fan, I was hooked before I even popped the tab.
The appearance is classic Other Half hazy IPA: pale yellow, opaque, and beautifully cloudy. The head is minimal, which I actually prefer. It looks light, refreshing, and tailor-made for game day.
Taking a deep whiff, the aroma is bright and citrusy, exactly what I expect from a Citra-heavy brew. That light, sweet, tropical scent instantly had me excited to dive in.
First sip: it’s good. It’s definitely a solid beer, but it leans a little piney and resinous compared to other Other Half Citra brews I’ve had. There’s also a slight sweet, syrupy note that lingers after each sip, which makes it feel a little heavier than expected for a 6.5% ABV hazy IPA.
This isn’t a crushable beer — it’s a sipper for sure. The smooth body and sweet backend make it something you want to enjoy slowly, maybe over the course of a tailgate or an NFL Sunday. And honestly, I like that. Not every IPA needs to be a one-and-done pounder.
Is it my favorite Other Half Citra beer? No, probably not. But it’s still enjoyable, approachable, and well worth trying — especially if you’re a Bills fan like me.
